A furlong is a unit of length equal to 1/8th of a mile, or 660 feet. It was originally based on the length of land a team of oxen could plough without resting. Today it is rarely used except in horseracing and in the country of Burma.
An inch is a unit of length equal to exactly 2.54 centimeters. There are 12 inches in a foot, and 36 inches in a yard.
