A troy ounce is a unit of weight equal to 1/12th of a troy pound. It weighs about 10% more than a customary ounce and is used to measure the weight of precious metals and gemstones.
The kilogram, or kilogramme, is the base unit of weight in the Metric system. It is the approximate weight of a cube of water 10 centimeters on a side.
